Plymouth YMCA Satellite Sites
Plymouth YMCA is proud of its history of providing over the years management services and programme administration for numerous projects developed to address the needs of our community.
Plymouth YMCA is currently working with a number of local partners to ensure that residents of Plymouth have access to locally based leisure, sport, health & fitness, and family support services. Our present satellite sites include: Torpoint & Rame Community Sports Centre, Stonehouse Community Gym, and Ernesettle Community Gym.
Torpoint & Rame Community Sports Centre
The Torpoint & Rame Community Sports Centre was opened in 2006. Plymouth YMCA was invited into the project’s development to manage the facility and to help ensure the needs of Torpoint and its locale were being met. Funding from Caradon Council, Cornwall NHS, and the Local Education Authority has made it possible for Plymouth YMCA to develop other local partnerships and to deliver sport, health, fitness and leisure services in Torpoint.

- Sports hall
- Fitness suite
- Changing rooms and showers
- WCs
- Disabled WCs and showers
- Parking (included disabled)
- Opening Times:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 9:00pm
Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday 12:00pm – 4:00pm

Stonehouse Community Gym
Located in the HQ Building on Union Street, Stonehouse Community Gym is a partnership between Plymouth YMCA and Stonehouse Creek Community Trust and was formed in 2005 to aid the regeneration work being undertaken in the area. Stonehouse Community Gym is a small leisure facility that offers friendly personalised health and fitness services in a comfortable supportive setting.
Stonehouse Community Gym Facilities Available:
- Introductory gym programme
- Advanced level qualified instructors
- Exercise on Referral scheme
- Youth fitness programmes
- No contract (various payments options)
- Free parking (car registration number must be given to reception)
- Opening Times:
Monday – Thursday 9am - 7pm
Friday 9am - 6pm
Saturday 10am - 12noon

Ernesettle Community Gym
Ernesettle Community Gym is located in the Ernesettle Primary Care Centre and is managed by Plymouth YMCA. This small gym is a unique, award winning community model that has helped to foster new community perceptions of health and fitness provision. The facility and services are the result of a partnership between Plymouth NHS and Plymouth YMCA.
Ernesettle Community Gym Facilities Available:
- Open to the general public (you must be over 16 years old)
- Introductory gym programme
- Exercise on Referral scheme
- No contract (various payment options)
- Free parking
- Opening times:
Monday 10am-5pm
Wednesday 9am -5pm
Friday 9am- 3pm
