May 2, 2013-Hearty Lives Plymouth Conference- Thursday, 2nd May. Plymouth YMCA will be at the New Continental Hotel in Plymouth from 10am - 2pm, to join the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Plymouth City Council, NHS Plymouth and other local agencies for a celebration of Hearty Lives Plymouth, a programme funded by the BHF to increase physical activity and raise awareness of the risk of cardiovascular disease and other associated illnesses. Plymouth YMCA is a Hearty Lives partner, providing expert exercise physiologists who deliver physical activity sessions throughout locations around Plymouth. March 24, 2013-Family Fun Dog Show and Craft Fair, Sunday, 24th March. More than 200 people, dog owners, and supporters turned out to enjoy the Dog Show and Craft Show. The 85 dogs on hand kept the show classes and judge busy. Other activities included face painting, BBQ, and a bouncy castle. Proceeds support Plymouth YMCA's work with vulnerable young people in Plymouth. The event was sponsored by Bella Pet Supplies. For more information email Tori Bearham or call 01752 201915. December 19, 2012-Honicknowle Community Christmas Dinner, Wednesday,19th December.Hosted by Plymouth YMCA, 30 local people have been invited to the charity for a free traditional turkey dinner to share joy, fun, and each other's company. "We're looking forward to tucking in to help cook and serve. It'll be fun and relaxed," says Tori Bearham, one of the organisers. "Courtesy of the Co-operative, we will set the scene and ensure a party atmoshere having received £100 grant from the supermarket to put towards the dinner party." November 2, 2012-Terry Clarke Memorial Fund Annual Quiz Night took place at Boringdon Park in Plympton. Teams enjoyed a tough round of questions along with prizes, food, raffle and refreshments. September 16, 2012- Plymouth Healthy Heart 5K Fun Run and Family Fair at Saltram House in Plympton WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. Thank you everyone who supported us on the day! A particular thank you goes to all the good hearted Super Heroes who champiioned our cause! Well done. Some 300 people took part in the event! The 5k run and fair was organised by Plymouth YMCA, British Heart Foundation and the National Trust. The course wound through the beautiful Salatram estate. The day included a family fair hosted by Community Games, a YMCA programme that provided free sporting and fun activities open to the public. All proceeds went to Plymouth YMCA and BHF to support the local work they undertake to reduce health inequalities and the risks of heart disease. July 25, 2012- CHOAS Science Road Show at Plymouth YMCA, Honicknowle Lane- Fun and crazy hands-on science, presented by friendly University of Cambridge students, was enjoyed by over 150 local young people. For more information click www.chaosscience.org.uk.
July 16, 2012- Plymouth YMCA's 2011-12 AGM took place at Plymouth YMCA on Honicknowle Lane. The event, which attracted over 80 guests celebrated our achievements for the 2011-12 period. Among those recognised at the occasion were Doug Weymouth, Distinguished Service Award for 17 years of voluntary service with Plymouth YMCA; Alan Collins, Volunteer of the Year; Kathy Ball, Voluntary Service Award; Hugh Goodden, Voluntary Service Award; Robbie Stuart, Voluntary Service Award; and Nathan Thompson, Student of the Year.
July 5, 2012 - Discovery College Presentation Day 2012 took place at Plymouth Albion Rugby Football Club. The occasion celebrated the outstanding achievements and successes of the College's BTEC students. June 16, 2012 - Plymouth YMCA Summer Golf Cup took place at Boringdon Park, Plympton PL7 4QG. The day included 18 holes on the main Saltram Course, with golfers competing for places and prizes. May 19, 2012 - Plymouth YMCA Community Games - Plymouth YMCA organised a Community Games event on the Hoe during Saturday's festivities celebrating Lord Mayor's Day and the arrival of the 2012 Olympic Torch relay. More than 2,000 people participated in the range of activities available on the day that included fitness taster sessions, basketball, face painting, football and more. May 13, 2012- YMCA Kitto Parkway Presentation Evening at Boringdon Park, Plympton. The evening was celebrated by 360 sports enthusiasts including young players, their friends and families; as well as coaches, referees, volunteers and sponsors. April 24, 2012- Sports Scholarship Open Evening, at Plymouth Albion RFC, Brickfields Recreation Ground, Plymouth. Our innovative Sport Scholarships enable students to combine post-16 studies in sport with professional sports coaching. The Open Evening was an exciting opportunity to learn about the scholarship programmes and how to get involved. Plus, throughout the evening young people and parents engaged with professionals from: Plymouth Albion RFC (rugby); Plymouth Raiders (basketball); Boringdon Park (golf); and Discovery College.

April 21, 2012- Friends of Plymouth YMCA Celebration & Support of Plymouth Albion RFC's Season Finale: a delightful afternoon of entertainment and networking was enjoyed by over 65 guests. Future corporate and networking events are being planned.
