Bachelors Hall is a farmhouse with grounds leased by the Plymouth YMCA from the Duchy of Cornwall for use by recognised groups as a base for outdoor activities on the Moor.
The centre is situated about ½ mile east of Princetown (SX.602736), and is approached by the road to Tor Royal and then by cart track suitable for a mini-bus. Download map of the area.
Public rights of way give access to both north and south Dartmoor for rambles, exploration or expeditions. Examples of industrial archaeology (tin mining) and pre-historic remains are within easy reach for field studies.
The atmosphere of a Dartmoor farmhouse has been recreated with granite and whitewashed walls. The day rooms have log fires and the first floor is fully carpeted and has pine wood ceilings.
The facilities include:
Fees from 1 January 2009 are £5.65 per person per night, with a £105 minimum charge per group per night.
Fees from 1 January 2010 are £590 per person per night, with a £110 minimum charge per group per night
VAT will be added at the curent rate unless your organisation is exempt.
All bookings should be made via: Mr & Mrs David Buckingham
